Shimano 25kg Lip Gripper Description: Holding spiky, toothy, active and slippery fish can be a problem for anglers, especially in small boats, and thats what makes Shimanos Lip Grippers such a handy addition to any tackle box. Made from Japanese stainless steel, a spring mechanism on the end of the Lip Gripper locks around the fishs lower jaw, and when the pressure is released the two pincers hold it fast. Then its easy to pick the fish up for unhooking and - or photographs (always remembering to support the fishs belly with your other hand to avoid placing undue strain on the fishs internals). There are two sizes two choose from, and both have a scale in the handle capable of weighing fish up to 7 and 25 kilos respectively. When using the scales, one point worth noting is that if the fish is intended for release, its better to weigh the fish in the landing net (a fish-friendly Environet is perfect for this), then deduct the weight of the net afterwards....
