Heavy Metal - At The Ranfurly - Extreme Jigging Description: HEAVY METAL AT THE RANFURLY EXTREME JIGGING This is the first English language video of Japanese Jigging or Extreme Jigging seen in NZ and possibly in the world. This type of jig fishing has been raging throughout Asia over the last 15 years and more recently throughout NZ, Australia, Middle East, Europe and the USA. This DVD was shot during November 2007 at the Ranfurly Banks on the East coast of NZ, the latter part was shot at White Island in the BOP. Th Ranfurly Banks is a large area of reef systems and seamounts which is some 18 miles NE of the East cape of NZ. The Ranfurly is the wild west of fishing with heavy tidal currents and multi-weather systems. It harbours giant Yellowtail Kingfish, Hapuka (Grouper), Bass (Wreakfish) and many other XL species, it is the Jurassic Park of NZ fishing and we tackle these monsters using only jig tackle.
