The fruit for this wine was grown at Ballandean in the Granite Belt in southern Queensland. Harvest was during late March 2002, where the fruit was picked by both hand and machine.
This tantalizing Merlot is a deep purple-red creation, flaunting blackberry and plum with lightly toasted oak on the nose. New and used French oak barriques were used for the wine to mature into a full bodied palate, with flavours of berry fruit leading into plum and subtle oak. The finish is long and soft with integrated fine tannins. Goes well with grilled meats and dark meat, fish, or Bolognese and Napoli dishes served with Romano or Parmesan cheese.

The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested from 40-50 year old vines in a single vineyard that lies in the north-western sub-region of the Barossa Valley known as Maranaga. The grapes were open fermented and then aged in a combination of new and older American Oak barrels for approximately 18 months. The aroma on this wine is so intense with buckets of sweet ripe fruit. On the palate the sweet flavours continue and are well balanced by the careful use of oak and has a soft finish. Highly recommended! Drink now, or age for medium term. The 2004 vintage in McLaren Vale was very good, resulting in some sensational Cabernet-based wines, full of flavour, ripeness, excellent color and structure. The grapes for this wine were sourced from a single vineyard on the golden slopes of the Vale, co-fermented in open vat fermenters and then aged in French Oak Barriques for approximately 24 months. It exhibits lovely raspberry, blackcurrant and spice flavours along with an idiosyncratic dark chocolate character. It has loads of aggressive up-front flavours, as you'd expect from McLaren Vale, along with a smooth finish. Excellent ageing potential! Now available in a 6 pack for your convenience.

The beautiful Langhorne Creek wine region is less than an hour's drive from Adelaide in South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula and promotes a wine history dating back to 1850. Fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon with its minty overtones is the most significant product of the region.
This wine shows a bright colour with excellent juicy red/black berry fruit flavours and hints of chocolate, cedar and spice. The tannins are fine and soft and the wine finishes superbly.

The winery that grew these grapes is at Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula. It is north-facing to capture all the benefits of a cool climate and ripening sunlight. Good Pinot Noir from this region is in short supply. This wine has been aged for two years, and has just been bottled. It is looking stunning! It has delightful aromas with lots of ripe cherry and plum fruit flavours, well-handled soft oak, and a lingering smooth finish. The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested from 40-50 year old vines in a single vineyard that lies in the north-western sub-region of the Barossa Valley known as Maranaga. The grapes were open fermented and then aged in a combination of new and older American Oak barrels for approximately 18 months. The aroma on this wine is so intense with buckets of sweet ripe fruit. On the palate the sweet flavours continue and are well balanced by the careful use of oak and has a soft finish. Highly recommended! Drink now, or age for medium term. Now in a 6 pack for your convenience

The grapes for this wine were sourced from a single, old, dry grown, low yielding vineyard situated in Mintaro, an historic township just south of the Clare Valley; approximately 420 metres above sea level. The wine has been made using time honoured techniques such as basket pressing, open vat fermentation and aging in new French oak barriques for approximately 24 months. The end result is a classic red with a deep rich colour with a nose of ripe blackcurrants, rich lingering flavours and gentle savoury tannins on the finish.

The 2004 vintage in McLaren Vale was very good, resulting in some sensational Cabernet-based wines, full of flavour, ripeness, excellent color and structure. The grapes for this wine were sourced from a single vineyard on the golden slopes of the Vale, co-fermented in open vat fermenters and then aged in French Oak Barriques for approximately 24 months. It exhibits lovely raspberry, blackcurrant and spice flavours along with an idiosyncratic dark chocolate character. It has loads of aggressive up-front flavours, as you'd expect from McLaren Vale, along with a smooth finish. Excellent ageing potential! Now available in a 6 pack for your convenience.

Tasting Notes The CSIRO developed Tarrango to handle Australia's climate and soils. Brown Brothers were the innovator of this variety, and it developed a bit of a cult following. Wine drinkers wanting a break from big Aussie Shiraz like the delicate, light-bodied red wine with buckets of flavour.
Our Tarrango is from grapes grown around Mystic Park along the Murray River. It has aromas of fresh fruit and spice, and the palate has hints of raspberry and cherry with soft tannins. Serve it chilled in warm weather.

The winemaker grabs fruit from opposite regions in Australia. Fruit is crushed in West Aust and transported as chilled juice to the Hunter Valley for blending with local fruit. The Western Australian component livens up the blend and provides more tropical fruit flavours while the Hunter fruit give richness and complexity.
